Every Question - Answered.
Every question answered.
Honestly.
We know buying a mirror online is a considered decision. Here's everything worth knowing β no marketing fluff, just straight answers.
Is this actually good quality?
Is this actually good quality, or just another cheap online import?
We get this question β and we respect it. The internet is full of mirrors that photograph well and disappoint in person. Lunarglow mirrors are frameless, with polished edges and uniform LED lighting that runs flush around the perimeter of the glass. The anti-fog pad is built into the back panel, the touch controls are responsive, and the housing is solid.
The electrical components on the back of every mirror are housed in an IP44-rated enclosure β meaning it's waterproof and rated specifically for bathroom environments. This isn't a consumer electronics product repurposed for a wet area. It's built for exactly where it lives.
The consistent feedback we get from customers is that the mirror looks more premium in person than they expected. That's not an accident β it's what we designed for.
Why does it cost $500+? What am I actually paying for?
We made a deliberate decision not to compete on price. Cheaper mirrors use thinner glass, weaker LED strips that fade or flicker within 12β18 months, and basic housing that doesn't hold up over time.
What you're paying for: commercial-grade LEDs rated for 50,000+ hours, high-quality frameless glass, a built-in anti-fog system, Bluetooth speaker, a 3-year warranty, and free insured shipping. These aren't features bolted on to justify the price β they're what we built from the start because we wanted a mirror that still performs the same in year five as it does on day one.
Will the LED lighting last, or will it fade and flicker?
Our LEDs are rated for 50,000+ hours of use. At two hours of use per day, that's 68 years. Realistically, they will outlast the time the mirror spends in your bathroom. This is the same grade of LED used in commercial and hospitality fitouts β not the strip lighting you'd find in a $150 bathroom mirror.
Will it actually look like the photos, or will I be disappointed?
Better β in our experience. Photography compresses the visual quality of frameless glass and LED lighting. When customers receive their Lunarglow mirror and switch it on for the first time, the response we hear most often is that it looks more impressive in person than in any photo or video.
The frameless edge in particular is something you need to see in real life to fully appreciate. It doesn't just look clean β it makes the whole mirror look like it belongs in a luxury fitout.
Will it still look and work well in a few years?
Yes. The frameless design means there's no frame to date, warp, or discolour over time. The glass quality doesn't change. The LEDs don't fade noticeably. And we back it all with a 3-year warranty β not because we're nervous about what might go wrong, but because we're confident nothing will.
How hard is it to install?
Do I need an electrician to install it?
No. Lunarglow mirrors plug into a standard GPO (power point). If you already have a powerpoint in or near your bathroom, you can hang the mirror yourself β it's essentially the same process as hanging any wall mirror, plus plugging in a cord. Most of our customers do this without any professional help.
Can it be hardwired for a cleaner look?
Yes. If you prefer no visible cord, a licensed electrician can hardwire the mirror directly into your wall. The mirror is designed to accommodate this. Most electricians can do it in under an hour β it's a very simple job for any licensed sparky.
Can I hide the cord if I'm not hardwiring?
The cleanest solution is a recessed powerpoint β a power point set into the wall directly behind the mirror, so the cord sits completely out of sight. Speak to a licensed electrician about this β it's a straightforward job and leaves the finished result looking fully built-in.
How long does the whole installation take?
Hanging the mirror itself takes 15β30 minutes. If you're hardwiring, add roughly an hour for your electrician. That's it β no plumbing, no tiling, no disruption. It's one of the few bathroom upgrades that's genuinely done in a morning.
What if I'm not sure the mirror will fit my space?
Every mirror has specific dimensions listed on the product page. We recommend measuring your wall space and comparing before ordering. If you're genuinely unsure β DM us on Instagram or send us a message. Frank or the team will help you work out what fits before you commit to anything.
How does it all actually work?
How does the anti-fog actually work?
There's a heating pad built into the back of the mirror that gently and automatically warms the glass surface when the mirror is on, preventing condensation from forming after a shower. There's no separate switch β it just works. You step out and the mirror is clear.
The heating pad has an automatic shut-off after 1 hour to avoid unnecessary power use. It resets each time you turn the mirror's lighting off and back on. Effective, subtle, and efficient β exactly how it should work.
Will it be bright enough for applying makeup?
Yes β this was non-negotiable in the design. The LEDs are positioned to provide even, shadow-free lighting at face level. The natural colour temperature setting replicates daylight conditions, which is the gold standard for makeup application. It's the difference between applying makeup in your bathroom and applying makeup like a professional.
Will it be too bright or too harsh?
No β because you control it. Brightness is fully adjustable from a soft ambient glow all the way to full-brightness task lighting. The warm setting in particular is very flattering β nothing clinical about it. You set it once for your morning routine, once for evenings, and the mirror remembers.
How do the light settings actually work?
Three colour temperature settings β warm, natural, and cool white β with adjustable brightness across each. Warm is flattering for evenings. Natural replicates daylight (ideal for makeup). Cool is crisp and clean for a quick morning routine. Everything is controlled via the touch button on the mirror face. One tap to cycle through colours, hold to adjust brightness.
Is the Bluetooth actually worth it?
Genuinely β yes. It pairs to your phone in seconds. Sound quality is solid for a bathroom: clear enough for calls, good enough to properly enjoy music. It's one of those features people think they won't use much and then can't imagine their morning without. Your bathroom routine becomes your actual favourite part of the day.
Does it remember my settings?
The mirror doesn't retain a saved setting, but the controls are very intuitive. Three quick taps on the touch button cycles through the three colour temperatures β warm, natural, and cool. To adjust brightness, simply press and hold the touch button to dim or brighten the light. Once you've used it a couple of times, it becomes completely instinctive.
Smart lighting. Anti-fog. Bluetooth. One afternoon to install.

What if the mirror arrives damaged?
We package every mirror in custom protective foam and double-box it specifically to protect the glass in transit. The packaging has been designed and tested for this. But if something does arrive damaged, contact us immediately with photos and we'll send a replacement. No forms, no lengthy process, no arguing. Every order is fully insured in transit β that's our risk, not yours.
What if I receive it and I just don't love it?
You have 30 days to return it for a full refund. The mirror needs to be in original condition, but we make the process straightforward. We're not a faceless operation β we're a small Australian brand and we want you to be genuinely happy with what you bought. If you're not, we'd rather give you your money back than have you unhappy.
What does the 3-year warranty actually cover?
The warranty covers all manufacturing defects β LED performance, anti-fog system, touch controls, and Bluetooth components. If anything stops working the way it should within 3 years of purchase and it's not the result of physical damage, we'll repair or replace it.
We offer 3 years because we're confident in what we make. Most comparable products offer 12 months. Our warranty is three times that β because our expected product life is far longer.
Can I actually trust this brand?
Fair question. We'd rather earn that trust than just claim it.
"I started Lunarglow because I genuinely believed there was a gap in the market for a premium smart mirror that didn't require a $40,000 bathroom renovation to look like it belonged there. We're a small Australian brand. I'm Frank β I'm contactable directly via DM on Instagram β and we stand behind everything we sell.
The 3-year warranty and 30-day returns aren't marketing copy. They're how we actually operate. If something isn't right, you reach a real person and we sort it."
Is it really worth $500+?
Is it actually worth spending this much on a mirror?
Here's the question we'd ask back: what's the most-used surface in your home? Most people would say their bathroom mirror. You look at it morning and night, every day, for years.
At $540, a Lunarglow mirror costs less than a new phone, a return flight, or a weekend away β and you'll use it more than all of those. It's not a luxury purchase. It's a considered one.
Why not just get a cheaper mirror?
You could. But cheaper mirrors use weaker LEDs that fade or flicker within 12β18 months, thinner glass that's less flattering to look into, and basic housing that doesn't hold up. The anti-fog rarely works consistently. The Bluetooth, if it exists, sounds cheap.
In our experience, people who start with a cheaper mirror often end up purchasing a Lunarglow anyway β once they've lived with the difference for a year. We'd rather you just start here.
How is Lunarglow different from other LED mirrors out there?
A few things that matter:
Frameless design. Most mirrors at this price point have a visible frame or housing. Ours doesn't. The LED sits flush around the edge of the glass β it looks architecturally clean in a way that framed mirrors don't.
LED quality. We use commercial-grade LEDs rated to 50,000+ hours. Not the strip lighting used in budget imports.
Effective anti-fog. The heating pad activates automatically when the mirror is on β no separate switch, no waiting. It works quickly and subtly, and has an automatic shut-off after 1 hour so it doesn't waste power. The moment you need a clear mirror, it's clear.
Australian brand with real support. Not a dropshipping operation. We stand behind what we sell.
Will it suit my bathroom?
Will it actually suit my bathroom style?
Frameless, clean, no visible hardware β by design, Lunarglow mirrors sit quietly in a space without fighting for attention. They work in traditional bathrooms, modern renovations, rental properties, and everything in between. The absence of a frame is what makes them so versatile β there's nothing to clash with your existing style.
Is it too modern / minimalist for my bathroom?
The mirrors are minimal in form, but they read as elevated rather than cold. The LED glow adds warmth, not a clinical feel. They've been installed in very traditional bathroom settings and looked completely at home β the frameless format doesn't impose a style on a room, it complements one.
Will it match my tapware and hardware?
Because there's no frame and no visible metal hardware, there's nothing to clash with. The mirror itself is just glass and light β it's one of the most neutral pieces you can introduce to a bathroom. Matte black tapware, brushed nickel, brass, chrome β it works with all of it.
Which shape should I choose?
Aura (Rectangle) β the most versatile. Works above a single or double vanity. A classic that reads as contemporary without being trendy.
Arcadia (Arch) β a softer, more architectural shape. Works beautifully in both modern and transitional bathrooms. Very popular right now.
Eclipse (Round) β a statement piece. Works best as a single above a freestanding basin or a feature wall. Adds softness to a space with a lot of hard lines.
Nexus (Oval) β elegant and slightly more traditional in feel. Works well in powder rooms and bathrooms where you want refinement over drama.
Still unsure? DM us a photo of your bathroom β we genuinely enjoy helping people find the right fit.
How does shipping work?
How long does shipping take?
We ship Australia-wide, and all orders are dispatched same day (for orders placed before the daily cut-off). Delivery is typically 3β7 business days depending on your location. All shipping is free and fully insured β no express option is offered, because we move fast enough that you won't need it.
Is it insured in transit?
Yes. Every Lunarglow mirror ships fully insured. If anything goes wrong in transit, you're covered β that's our responsibility, not yours. You'll also receive tracking as soon as your order dispatches.
How is it packaged β will the glass survive the journey?
Each mirror is packed in custom-formed protective foam and double-boxed specifically to protect the glass during transit. The packaging was designed and tested for this β not a generic solution. We've shipped hundreds of mirrors and transit damage is extremely rare. On the occasions it does happen, we replace without question.
Is shipping really free?
Yes β free insured shipping on all orders Australia-wide. No minimum spend, no fine print. It's included.
